Web Design
  • The template and web designs remain the intellectual property of Mara Cortesi and may not be reproduced without permission. This does not effect the client’s ownership of the site, it is to help prevent theft of the template in terms of other individuals claiming the work as their own.  It also helps me to reclaim my work in the event of inappropriate use of the design as detailed in the subsection Code of Ethics in relation to site content.
  • Payment for the websites will be remitted in 2 stages:  One half at the time the website is commissioned, one half when the website is live online.
  • Invoices are payable within 14 days.
  • Once the payment is made all further work on the website (providing it is online and functioning correctly, ie it is not a “teething trouble”) will be charged for an my usual hourly rate of £30 per hour in increments of 15 minutes.  Clients are reminded that site updates, reinstalls and uploads can take up to 72 hours to be correctly propogated across the internet.  This is a server side issue, not a web design issue.
  • Custom websites go live on receipt of  final cleared payment.
  • Content Management System based sites will go live as soon as the template is designed, and will then be updated and edited until complete.
  • Full and final payment is due 14 days after the website is live, unless other arrangements have been made with the client.
  • Payment may be made by cash, cheque or Pay Pal.
  • Once the website is live online I cannot accept any responsibility for malicious attack from outside sources.  Please read my statement on malicious attack for more information.
  • Quotations accepted either verbally or in writing are legally binding on both parties.
  • Additional fees may apply for some services. In particular, SEO, web domains and hosting or ongoing site management are not included in the package price. See pricing information for more details.
  • All of my clients information is strictly confidential. By arranging for me to store your website digitally you are giving consent under the Data Protection Act. You can view this information or have it deleted at any time.

Confidentiality

I undertake that I will not divulge any information regarding the Client’s business, their client’s or their associates to any competitor of the client, neither will I divulge any of this information to any person or persons or organisation that may result in negative publicity, or detriment to the business, or the Client, their client’s or associates

I undertake to take reasonable care of information sent to me by the Client to prevent it from ending up in the public domain.

I undertake that, unless a different arrangement is made with the Client at time of booking, all information held by myself will be deleted/destroyed after a period of 6 months.
