Whilst content management system based websites are ideal for client’s with a more “hands on” approach, website management does not suit everyone.  Often people start off by managing their own site but find that eventually this becomes more time consuming and difficult to combine with the other demands of their business lives.

I offer a competitive website management service which is available on monthly subscription or on a pay-as-you-go basis.

SEO

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is an essential aspect of web design without which your site can become lost in searches. The old phrase “needle in a haystack” is one that can easily be applied to individual sites in the huge “haystack” of sites online.

SEO can target the search engines so that your website has a web presence. That is people can find it by typing in key words related to your service or product.

It can be a long and complex process but essentially it looks at which search terms as used by potential customers and making sure that when these are used your website is high enough up the listing to catch their attention.

If you are purchasing a content management based website package basic SEO is included in all except the basic bronze package.

Google Adsense

This enables you to add targetted advertisements to your site and can be text or visual. These can bring in some revenue via your site because you are paid on a per-click basis. You need to ensure that they are relevant enough to appeal to those browsing your site without ending up advertising your competitors! A word of caution – some people find these advertisements intrusive and off-putting so you need to consider carefully whether or not they are right for you.

Google Adwords

An advertising service run by Google whereby you establish a budget for advertising with them on a pay per click basis. The resulting advertisements appear in the highlighted areas of the Google results page when customers type in the keywords relating to your site. Google Adwords does not require a long term committment and can therefore be cancelled at any time.

Local Keywords

Local Keywords are a way of determining what words people are using to search for similar companies or organisations in your local area. Again this is important when designing the SEO and/or linking this to Google Adwords.
